From Poitou-Charentes in 2010, the small Electric Mia should be marketed again from 2023 under the Fox E-Mobility crest. With her brick-like appearance, little Mia only had an ephemeral existence with the disappearance of the brand in 2014. It responded to the desire of Ségolène Royale, then president of the former Poitou-Charentes region, to develop a 100% French subsidiary to market a electric car. The development of the small car carried out under the tutelage of Heuliez cost a fortune since it was necessary to design a vehicle meeting safety certifications starting from zero and this, without the strike force of the industrialists of theautomobile.
Finally, only 1,000 units had been sold and essentially acquired at a high price by the Poitou-Charentes Regional Council. So it was a chasm economy of which we can still see some vestiges circulating in the streets of Poitiers.
Small size, small power with an engine of 24 horsepower maximum for a speed peak of 100 km / h, small range with less than 90 km on a charge and recharge … very slow. This Mia may have arrived too soon in a market that was still far from taking off. Finally, after three years of marketing, all of the brand’s assets were auctioned off to Fox E-Mobility, a Swiss and German company.
More autonomy and power
The brand has just announced that it wants to relaunch the car in a three or four-seater version and in utility a square. For this, this Mia 2.0 will be designed in partnership with InoBat Auto, a battery manufacturer located in Slovakia. The first car battery cells will be produced in the country from next year. On the design side, Fox E-Mobility will only touch up the Mia very slightly. On the other hand, it is in terms of engine and batteries that the Mia 2.0 will experience a real revolution. The manufacturer does not indicate the engine power which was 8 kWh basic or 12 kWh optional. On the other hand, he specifies that this electric car could have a range of 200 km.
With a price that will be around 15,000 euros, this Mia 2.0 will have to rub shoulders with sufficiently cheap models from major automotive brands.
