Resting on the plate-forme EMP2 V3 from its Peugeot and DS cousins, it inherited most of the engines, including the famous plug-in hybrids accumulating 180 and 225 hp, Firstly. For now, looking at the first photos made available by the brand, we remember that the new Opel Astra will be offered on same type of “coachbuilder” hood as its Sochaux cousin, to overhang its Vizor grille. But, these two elements are unfortunately not directly related, the designers did not consider it appropriate to paint the opening in a tone similar to that of the roof. We may regret that this Astra did not play on the continuity of color between its roof, its hood and its grille., like the Mokka. In terms of on-board technologies, Opel only reports the adoption of IntelliLux LED matrix projectors, as well as a new generation of Pure Panel digital display. Physical controls are kept to a minimum, in a clean environment promising a high level of perceived quality.
New Opel Astra price
Available initially in 5-door saloon, the new Opel Astra will also be transformed into station wagon Sports Tourer, in the coming months. On the price side, the German will probably prove to be the most affordable of the DS4 / 308 / Astra trio, with a base price probably located around € 25,000.
