The prototype of the next Ferrari equipped with a hybrid V6 has been glimpsed on the roads during tests.

If certain brands are sometimes lacking in topicality, this is far from being the case with Ferrari, which has been making a series of innovations for several years now, in a beautiful series which began with the revelation of the F8 Tributo in Geneva. This was then followed by a host of equally nice creations, be it the 812 GTS, the Roma or the SF90 Stradale, with its 1,000 horsepower and its plug-in hybrid engine completely new in the range. But the brand is far from wanting to rest on its achievements, on the contrary, since it is already working on the development of a completely new model, just a few weeks after the revelation of the 812 Competizione. It should not be an electric, while the brand plans to eventually launch a zero-emission vehicle, but another hybrid, which could then be placed under the radical SF90 in the catalog. For now, its name has not been formalized, while the car is known under the code name Ferrari F171.

Logically, information is still very scarce on this future arrival in the range, but already, spy photographers have had the chance to come across a copy during road tests. This prototype, still heavily camouflaged, reveals quite a few details about its styling, while every detail is covered. However, we notice that the overall lines and the silhouette are significantly closer to its big sister, the SF90 Stradale, especially at the front, which seems very aggressive. According to some, the exhaust cannulas visible at the rear are fictitious, while the real ones are installed a little lower. As you will have understood, everything has been done to mislead the most curious. Be that as it may, the one which is already announced as the indirect descendant of the Ferrari Dino still remains very mysterious, while the interior has not yet been seen. There is no doubt that it should also be inspired by the SF90, which seems to be the main inspiration for this newcomer.

Up to 700 horsepower?

For now, Ferrari has obviously not communicated officially on this Ferrari F171, whose release date has not been revealed for the moment. No teaser has been unveiled for the moment, as much to say that the presentation of this version, it is not for now. But anyway, the car-spotters seem rather well informed, since we are already talking about the presence of a 3.0-liter V6 under the hood. This should then be associated with an electric motor, which would then develop a total power of just over 700 horsepower for a torque of 1,085 Nm. Suffice to say that performance should be at the rendezvous for this rival supercar of the new McLaren Artura. The numbers from 0 to 100 km / h are logically not yet known, but no doubt they should be very impressive. Note that unlike the SF90 Stradale equipped with all-wheel drive, this Ferrari F171 will be pure propulsion, foreshadowing a great success with enthusiasts.

Regarding its official revelation, the noises of the corridors already evoke the end of the year, while its marketing will begin in early 2022. Everything suggests that the engine of this newcomer will not be reserved solely for it, since it could also equip the future Thoroughbred, which should also arrive in stride.
