What is an IP address, what is it used for and above all, how can we protect it to prevent malicious software from stealing our data?
The different machines and devices connected to internet (PC, servers, connected objects, etc.) use IP addresses to communicate with each other. This is the only way to find and access them on the network. To make life easier for Internet users and allow them to access the sites by entering a comprehensible address, the domain names have been created. There are data base who memorize which address IP matches which domain name. For example, by entering futura-sciences.com in his Navigator, l’computer contacts the server at the address 5.135.141.70. These databases are the servers DNS. Each access provider offers its own servers with internet subscriptions, used by default by all the computers that connect to it.
