This summer promises to be rich in novelties for lovers of video games with information on games in development and announcements of new games to come. The E3 show starts on Saturday June 12, but the festivities kicked off last night with the Summer Game Fest. In a two-hour event, developers and other guests took turns talking about their creations.

Perhaps the most important information is a new trailer for Elden Ring. This Game, much anticipated, is the result of a collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki (Dark Souls, Bloodborne…) et George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones). Released at the end of Summer Game Fest, the trailer shows gameplay and announces the release for January 21, 2022.

The event also announced many new games, starting with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a spin-off of Borderlands, scheduled for 2022 on PCs and consoles. Dotemu and Leikir Studio have announced Metal Slug tactics on Steam, a tactical RPG at style very retro. Jurassic World come back with Evolution 2 on PC and consoles, and Jeff Goldblum himself was chosen to make the announcement. Salt and Sanctuary will also receive a sequel on PS5 and PS4 in 2022, dubbed Soul and Sacrifice.

Two Point Campus will arrive next year on PC and consoles, and will allow the construction and management of a university campus. Former developers at Valve and Riot have announced anacrusis for this autumn on PC and consoles Microsoft, an FPS in a spaceship full of aliens. Another novelty, Planet of Lana release at the end of 2022 on Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series. This is an adventure filled with puzzles in a hand-drawn world. Finally, the latest news is an announcement of a game based on Painkiller, a horror game, starring zombies, released in 2004. No further information is available.

The Summer Games Fest also pleased many fans who are eagerly awaiting news of games in development. The conference was an opportunity to discover exclusive trailers for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War season 4, Chivalry II, Escape from Tarkov, Bloodhunt, The Dark Pictures : House of Ashes, Paladins, Fall Guys, Genshin Impact, Back 4 Blood or Tribes of Midgard.

Another surprise was the announcement by Amazon Games Studios of the arrival of Lost Ark in Europe and America, hitherto reserved for South Korea, Russia and Japan. We were also able to discover crossovers between Rocket League and Fast & Furios, Sky and The little Prince or Smite and Stranger Things.

Despite a substantial list of titles, the summer announcements are only just beginning. L’E3 debuts tomorrow in an online-only version this year, and many publishers have their own event planned.
