The constructor automobile Renault will join forces with Betteries, a start-up German specialist in battery recycling electric cars, he ad Wednesday, also presenting the models which will succeed its Twizy, a small vehicle reserved for rental.
Mobilize, la filiale de Renault specializing in electric cars for rental, has entered into an “industrial partnership with the German start-up Betteries”, she declared in a press release published on the occasion of the show VivaTech, annual Parisian meeting of start-ups.
Batteries recycled into generators transportable
The German recovers batteries from electric vehicles and uses them to develop transportable electric generators that can be used for multiple purposes, such as on construction sites. constructions or in “food trucks”.
On the same occasion, Mobilize presented three models of electric cars – Duo, Bento and Hippo – the first two of which, with two seats, will occupy the niche of the current Twizy, a mini electric vehicle intended for rental.
Finally, the group has announced a project on the Île d’Yeu, which will aim to support the establishment of a network of electric vehicles on the island.
This project to which EDF is also contributing, via its subsidiary Enedis, and the start-up Qovoltis must in particular “assess the needs and develop a plan for the implementation of innovative charging infrastructures”.
