As the market offers more and more choices, check out our selection of the 15 best electric scooters.

While cars are less and less welcome in large cities, whether in the Paris suburbs or elsewhere in France, many alternative and cleaner means of transport are developing massively. In addition to the bicycle, whether standard or electrically assisted, the electric scooter is also enjoying great success, greatly accelerated by confinements and the Coronavirus crisis. More wary of public transport, the French have flocked to these new personal means of getting around, less dangerous for health and more ecological. In addition, the rise and proliferation of cycle paths, also accessible to scooters, electric or not, allowed many refractories to be tempted, being able to circulate in complete safety. And this is felt on the sales side, since no less than 640,000 scooters were sold over the whole of last year, against 479,000 in 2019.

With prices starting at less than € 300 for some models, we can say that there is really something for everyone when it comes to electric scooters. Whether you are a very occasional user or a real fan, you will therefore necessarily find the model that suits you, depending on your needs and your budget. For only 549 €, it is possible to opt for the Xiaomi Pro 2, renowned for its comfort thanks to its large platform, while its quality / price ratio is more than satisfactory. For a few hundred euros more, you can turn to the Ninebot Max G30, which stands out for its long range, which reaches 64 kilometers, for a maximum speed of 25 km / h. Hiking enthusiasts can set their sights on the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 Plus, much more expensive but offering very good performance. Its range of 150 kilometers and its maximum speed of 80 km / h make it a very versatile but also comfortable electric scooter.

What purchasing aid?

First of all, you should know that not all electric scooters are eligible for state aid. Only two-wheelers of categories L1e and L2e can in fact claim it, provided that several conditions are met. Indeed, to be approved for road use in these categories, they must be equipped with a saddle, indicators, a horn and mirrors. The vehicle must also not exceed 3 kilowatts and 45 km / h in top speed. If your two-wheeler meets these requirements, then you will be eligible for a grant of € 200, which can go up to € 400 in Paris. You will then have to put together a file filled with several supporting documents as well as the request form to receive your bonus, in the form of a bank transfer.
