While the new single-seater from the AlphaTauri team -AT03- has just been unveiled in broad daylight, Pierre Gasly talks about his impressions and his expectations for the 2022 Formula 1 season.
In an interview with our colleagues fromAutoHebdo, Pierre Gasly spoke about his expectations for the 2022 Formula 1 season. The French spoke in particular about the work carried out by his team just after the presentation of his AT03. For the winner of the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, the objective is simple:
“I really hope this is a year where I can fight at the front, finish regularly in the top 5 and even more if the car is good enough for that. We must be prepared to deal with any situation that arises. »

After a successful year 2021 for the Normand and the Italian team, their minds aspire to great things. In particular to the approach of a new era of Formula 1where all the teams are advancing into the most total unknown. Alpha Tauri and Pierre Gasly intend to try their luckwhy not climb the hierarchy and aim for the top 5like Williams in 2014:
“We will have to approach it being ready for any eventuality. It’s a new start for all the teams, who are practically starting from zero, we are facing a clean sheet scenario. It will be a big challenge for the teams to figure out how to build the best possible car to comply with the new regulations. I have no doubts about the capabilities of our team and so far they are quite happy with the job they have done. Like everyone else, they’ve been working on it for many months now, but it’s hard to get an idea of what we can expect before the car hits the track in Barcelona for the first time. I’m sure this season will be full of twists and turns.”
Not to change, the French will evolve as the headliner of the sister team of Red Bull, alongside Yuki Tsunoda for the second consecutive year. While constantly evolving, the 26-year-old hopes to do even better than previous years by pushing his team to do the best they canwith the little means at its disposal:
“Mentally, I prepared for all possible scenarios. Personally, I will push the team to always do their best. Last year we came close to fifth in the constructors’ standings, it would be great to get there this year. It’s too early to say if this is possible, but I will always give my best and get the most out of our car. »
However, even with the greatest will in the world, it is for the moment impossible to predict any classification with its new single-seaters. It will be necessary to be patient and wait for the first laps of the wheels of the pilots, during the pre-season testing in Barcelona from February 23 to 25.
