Information has been leaked on Samsung’s next connected watch, which will be called Galaxy Watch Active 4. Computer generated images and some details have been released ahead of the official announcement which should take place on June 28th.

The new connected watch of Samsung is revealed before its time. The leaker French OnLeaks has partnered with site GizNext to share the leaked information about the Galaxy Watch Active 4, as well as renderings of what it should look like. Samsung is expected to officially unveil its direct competitor l’Apple Watch as part of its virtual event at the annual congress Mobile World Congress June 28.
According to their sources, the framework will be in aluminium and evolves slightly compared to the Galaxy Watch Active 2, in particular at the level of the fastening of the bracelet. The new watch retains the two buttons on the right, which change shape. The Galaxy Watch Active 4 will be offered in two sizes (40 and 44 millimeters) and four colors (noir, silver, vert et or).
A processor engraved in 5 nanometers
It will be the first watch to benefit from the new operating system wear OS, which is the product of a collaboration between Google and Samsung to merge it with Tizen. This change should simplify the work of developers while allowing users to access moreapplications. Samsung also promises that the new Wear OS will bring performance and autonomy improved. The Galaxy Watch 4 will also be equipped with a new processor engraved in 5 nm.
Samsung seems to have decided to skip a number when passing Galaxy Watch Active 2 directly to 4. The goal would be to harmonize the version numbers of its watches, in particular for the release of the Galaxy Watch 4, which is expected in August.
