Postponed by a few months, the presentation of the new SUV at the Trident should take place on March 22. The brand unveils new photos of the model on the street.
Initially announced for the month of November, the presentation of the Maserati Grecale had finally been postponed due to the shortage of semiconductors. The brand’s new SUV with the Trident, placed under the Levante, will notably compete with the Porsche Macan. Waiting for his reveal official, which will take place on March 22 if the brand does not change its mind in the meantime, the Grecale walks in the street almost naked.
Hi, I’m the #MaseratiGrecale.
I can’t tell you much more.March 22nd will fill the gaps.
Stay tuned.https://t.co/FSrP7ss4kQ pic.twitter.com/TsXlOddGzE— Maserati (@Maserati_HQ) February 15, 2022
The builder had fun with the little visible camouflage, by integrating blank sentences so as not to say too much about the model but to arouse interest. “Hello, I am Maserati Grecale. I can’t tell you more” displays one of the stickers. “Enjoy my XXX liter trunk”, suggests another.
The new Maserati Grecale, based on the Giorgio platform of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, adopts a more compact size than the Levante. He is easily recognized with his typical Maserati muzzle. The wide grille with vertical blades recalls the large SUV of the Italian brandjust like the rather stocky profile with a very marked roof drop.
Four-cylinder 2.0, V6 biturbo and even hybridization
On the engine side, there will be a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo with light hybridization of around 300 hp, from the Levante. Subsequently, the Grecale will receive a Trofeo version with a twin-turbo V6, seen on the MC20 supercar. Slightly deflated, it will develop a power of around 550 hp. Eventually, it would also be offered in a plug-in hybrid version, or even 100% electric thanks to synergies with the Stellantis group.
