It looks like a hidden camera or a sketch, but it is nevertheless the reality. While on Twitter, the hashtag #rassageparis takes on an increasingly important scale, Parisians and tourists deploring the catastrophic state of the capital and criticizing Anne Hidalgo, a user for his part put his finger on another problem. This time, no story of hazardous greening or craters in the road, but a more funny situation, although causing quite a bit of confusion for motorists. Indeed, and while the City of Paris continues to modify the direction of circulation of the streets according to the pedestrianization and the creation of cycle paths, it would seem that this time, it is the change too many. Indeed, a crossroads in the rue de Rivoli has been confusing drivers for a few days, while it now has no less than four prohibited directions.

Concretely, once you arrive at this intersection, located in the heart of the capital, it is quite simply impossible to get out without committing an offense, all the exits being only reserved for residents, cyclists and buses or taxis. No question of turning around either, especially since a camera carefully monitors the slightest misstep of motorists in a hurry. If many are amused by this ubiquitous situation, others are more annoyed, like this Maris , who works near the said crossroads, interviewed by BFM TV ” We can’t move around, everything is forbidden […] Those who are not Parisians are not used to it, so they stay in the middle of the street, otherwise they turn around or try to take a prohibited direction. They are really lost “. But as criticism rains about this aberration, David Belliard, deputy in charge of the transformation of public space and transport responded in a tweet, confirming that ” yes, a sign is missing at the previous crossroads. An error that will be repaired as soon as possible ».
Hopefully this small error will be quickly rectified, while it forces the many motorists passing through this crossroads to become illegal, and therefore to expose themselves to heavy penalties. In fact, remember that borrowing a forbidden street is liable to a fine of 135 €, as well as a withdrawal of four points on the driving license. Not to mention taking a bus lane, also fined € 135, making the situation even more complex for the drivers trapped in this infernal intersection. Let us hope that the agents in charge of the verbalization by cameras show leniency in this situation, whereas the motorists have probably been numerous to be forced to break the Traffic Laws to continue on their way.
