Alpine announces its next three electric models through a teaser revealing their silhouette, while information is still scarce.
As we know, Alpine is preparing to take a most radical turn in the years to come. While our leaders as well as the major European authorities wish to see the thermal car disappear in the medium term, the firm from Dieppe is already taking the lead. Until now offering only one model, the Alpine A110, powered by a relatively classic four-cylinder petrol, the brand now wants to turn 100% to electric, as Luca de Meo had announced a few months earlier. A logical decision, but which had obviously taken everyone by surprise, thus marking the end of an A110, however acclaimed by customers and the international press. Now the only sports label of the group since the announced end of Renault Sport, Alpine wishes to operate a vast reorganization, while expanding its catalog at the same time. There are therefore no less than three new models that should see the light of day in the coming years, while new teasers have been unveiled.
In fact, we have known for a little while that new silhouettes will arrive in the range in the years to come. It will indeed be an SUV, already mentioned by rumors for a very long time, a city car and a coupe, which will therefore replace the Alpine A110 as we know it. If a first image had been shown a few months earlier, the Norman firm now wishes to say a little more by revealing this time the silhouette of these three cars. If their name is not yet known, Luca de Meo, the new boss of Renault had said that there was one “for me”, one “for us” and one “for the weekend”. A positioning which at least has the merit of being clear on the brand’s desire to offer a range adapted to the needs of all customers. And Alpine is counting in particular on its future compact SUV, which should constitute a good part of the sales. Based on the plateforme CMF-B, it adopts a cut silhouette very popular today.
A wide range
Another model that is already talking about him, the city car, of which a new image has also just been shown. And without much surprise, its silhouette seems to be inspired by a car that we already know, namely the new Renault 5 electric. It should therefore be a rebadged and slightly revised version of the latter, in order to make it more dynamic. This should involve an increase in power, as well as the addition of a spoiler, as we can already see in the image unveiled by Alpine.Of course, the vehicle “for the weekend”, which does not is other than the coupe is undoubtedly the most awaited. This will then be designed in partnership with Lotus, while De Meo had stated that ” the Alpine and Lotus teams will conduct a full feasibility study for the joint engineering, design and development of such a model drawing on the resources, expertise and facilities of the respective entities in France and the UK. United “.
No additional information has been given for the moment, but we already know that the first model of this new era will be launched in 2024. It remains to be seen which one…
