Jaguar Land Rover, in full transformation, calls on Nvidia to develop software integrated into its future autonomous and connected vehicles.
Jaguar recently presented its Reimagine strategy and will undergo a profound transformation to become a 100% electric brand. To focus on its future, the brand will not unveil or launch new products before 2025, the start date of the new era of the feline. To become an even more luxurious 100% electric brand, the English manufacturer (and Land Rover, which belongs to the same group) is unveiling a unprecedented partnership to develop advanced autonomous driving systems.
In a press release, Jaguar Land Rover announces that it is partnering with Nvidia, a specialist in graphics processors and artificial intelligence. The purpose of this partnership is to jointly develop connected software and services based on artificial intelligence. They will be used in the group’s vehicles from 2025. From this date, all Jaguar and Land Rover models will be built on a common Nvidia Drive software platform, including many active safety or driver assistance features. Parking assistance or the autonomous driving system are mentioned in particular, as well as a passenger monitoring system or advanced visualization of the vehicle’s environment.
