Elon Musk full of irony towards American Traffic Safety on Twitter

17 de February de 2022
in Car

It’s no longer a scoop, but between Tesla and the NHTSA (American Highway Safety) it’s really not mad love. Elon Musk also took the opportunity to drop a small tackle on the institution.

In just 3 months, the NHTSA obliged Tesla carried out no less than 10 recalls for various problems on their cars. A few days ago, US Road Safety made an eleventh request to the 100% electric manufacturer, which did not fail to annoy the PDG de Tesla, Elon Musk.

And the latter did not fail to let it be known by speaking on his favorite playground (not Mars), Twitter. By responding to a user, the multi-billionaire called NHTSA the “Fun Police”. An obviously ironic definition which should not strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two parties.

The fun police made us do it (sigh)

– “What was the reason for the BoomBox recall?”
– “The fun police forced us (sigh)”

What is the Boombox anyway?

For this eleventh recall in 3 months, the NHTSA therefore looked into a novelty from Tesla, la Boombox. But then what is it?

Well, the automotive industry giant wanted to give drivers the opportunity to stream sounds or music through their external speakers. To share his musical tastes with the whole world in a way.

But for NHTSA, the problem was simple. This system would interfere with the pedestrian warning signal. Yes, basically, these speakers were used to warn passers-by of the arrival of a much quieter electric car.
