Ten years after its release, the Lamborghini Aventador is about to say goodbye, with an ultimate version, strong of 780 horsepower.
Ten years already. Remember, in 2011, Lamborghini launched the Aventador, then tasked with directly replacing a Bat at the end of its life after two generations and nine years of career. A newcomer to the range which then made a real leap forward on many points. Initially equipped with an atmospheric 700 horsepower V12, the Italian supercar has since continued to evolve, offering many variations, gradually increasing the level of power. Until reaching the 770 equine mark in 2018 with the Aventador SVJ, which then became the most efficient and radical model in the range. Until now. Because ten years after her arrival, and while the brand now wants to focus on more electrified models, the iconic sports car of the firm is about to bow out. But not before a last standstill, of course.
And nothing like a final version to celebrate the career of the supercar, sold over 10,000 copies worldwide, available in many variants, each more incredible than the next. The Sant’Agata brand therefore gives us a nice gift for the end of its star’s life, with a variation called LP780-4 “end». A variation that therefore lives up to its name, which is meant to be ultimate in every sense of the word. If the style is not necessarily the most exuberant of the range, we will however note some changes compared to the standard Aventador, with a slightly revised front shield, improving the support of the front axle. At the rear, a movable three-position spoiler is responsible for adapting to the driving mode chosen by the driver in order to improve the aerodynamics of the car. On board, the presentation remains quite classic, with superb sports seats and a digital handset assisting the driver. Note that 18 shades are available to customers, who can also choose from more than 300 colors via the Ad Personam program.
Only 600 copies
As you can imagine, the main evolutions of this new version of the Lamborghini Aventador are hidden under its hood. And for good reason, if the V12 6.5 liters atmospheric is obviously renewed, it sees its power climb by ten horses compared to the SVJ, in order to reach the bar of 780 equines. All of this cavalry is then sent to the four wheels via a permanent all-wheel drive inaugurated on the Aventador S a few years earlier. Lighter by 25 kilos compared to the latter, this ultimate version offers the same weight / power ratio as the radical SVJ, and then achieves 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed is for its part limited to 355 km / h, for a torque of up to 720 Nm. Note that the traction is provided by the four-wheel steering, while the distribution of torque is designed to slightly favor the rear axle.
It should be noted that only 600 copies of this Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 “end» will be produced, that is to say 350 coupés and 250 roadsters, while its unit price is not yet known.
