The UK sales site survey cars Pentagon Motor Group reveals that owning a flying car will cost a whopping £ 535,831 on average when the first models hit the market, or the equivalent of 630,000 euros. To arrive at this sum, analysts added up the cost of purchasing the flying car, but also refueling, obtaining the pilot’s license, insurance and parking.
The driver’s license (or, rather, to fly) could alone cost 26,830 pounds (or nearly 31,500 euros) while the cost of insurance has meanwhile been calculated on that of a plane of weight and similar size, piloted by a person with no previous experience, i.e. 12,850 pounds (15,075 euros). The biggest expenses will obviously be the purchase of the device, for which it will take nearly 500,000 pounds (more than 585,000 euros).
Among the price models taken into account for this study are in particular theAeroMobil, the Aska, the Moller Skycar 400, the Terrafugia, the SkyDrive, but also the Pal-V. This model, produced in the Netherlands, could well be the first to be marketed, from 2022. Appearing on the road as a small sports car, it turns into a flying object in just a few moments. Already approved for Europe, it is available for pre-order on the manufacturer’s website from 299,000 euros. With all the options, the bill rises to 499,000 euros.
