It is already not easy to get a new car these days but with the sinking of this freighter, the situation will become even more complex.
4,000 Volkswagen Group vehicles are currently sinking off the coast of Portugal. There are therefore vehicles of different brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche and Bugatti.
During the week, the Felicity Ace therefore caught fire off the Portuguese coast after leaving the port from Emden, Germany. The freighter was heading towards the United States where the cars would then be transported to their respective dealerships.
Since then, manufacturers have been waiting to find out whether the vehicles can be saved or not, but no information has yet been released in the media.
As for the crew, the 22 members present on the freighter were saved and were able to be repatriated to the coast.
In complete blur
As we told you, the manufacturers do not yet really know how this story will end. A spokesperson for Volkswagen has also spoken with the site BusinessInsider explaining that: “We are working with local authorities and the shipping company to investigate the cause of the incident.”
But also and above all, to have information concerning the recovery of these 4,000 cars trapped in the middle of The Atlantic Ocean.
