Recently, it is possible to charge your electric car on certain Tesla Superchargers. But how much does it cost? We explain to you.
This is news that should delight owners of electric cars, who will now have new possibilities for recharging their vehicle. In fact, it has recently been possible to connect any zero-emission vehicle to Tesla Superchargers, the firm having opened up certain stations to third-party brands. In total, there are therefore 16 stations spread throughout the territory which are now open to all, thus allowing motorists to benefit from very fast charging, provided they have a vehicle compatible with CSS technology. But how much does it cost to use these Superchargers when you’re not driving a Tesla? Auto-Moto takes stock.
A variable price
First of all, you should know that Tesla bills per kWh and not per minute, unlike Ionity. However, the price is not the same everywhere and varies according to the charging stations, with a price ranging from 0.50 and 0.60 € per kWh. The best thing is to check the exact amount in the application before going there to avoid unpleasant surprises. It is nevertheless possible to lower the cost of the charge a little by opting for a subscription, billed at €12.99 per month. At this price, you can then take advantage of a preferential rate varying between 0.30 and 0.40 €/kWh.
Also note that Tesla applies unjustified occupancy fees if you spend too much time at the terminal. The brand then charges you €1 per minute from the end of charging if the station is more than 50% occupied. A small tolerance of five minutes is nevertheless applied.
