Electric motorcycles 2021: the brands present
There are relatively few manufacturers committed to the “zero emission” approach for two-wheelers. However, the range of each of them begins to expand. Currently, the most represented motorcycle brand in terms of range density of electric models is Zero Motorcycles. Since its creation in 2006 under the name Electricross, the American firm has adopted an approach that can resemble that of Tesla in the automotive industry, while ensuring to put performance at the forefront. Conversely, a model like Elmoto Loop adopts a very urban profile by being particularly intended for delivery men. It was developed by Govecs, best known for its electric bikes, like Time, representing Spain on the same basis as Pursang. The builders Evoke, Horwin et Super Soco, which has just released in this year 2021 the TC Wanderer, are also positioned on the market for electric two-wheelers with several vehicles. French society On-Ron released its first model, the Light Bee, in 2018. At a higher price level, we notice the Harley-Davidson LiveWire, the brand’s first electric motorcycle, as well as the Tacit T-Race Diabolika. For his part, Resilient develops several very powerful models, with high performance, supplying in particular all the machines of the MotoE championship. Without forgetting the French brand Voxan, which is based on its Wattman model in a version approved for the road and another intended for speed records.

Electric motorcycles 2021: comparison with scooters
The volume of the electric market for motorcycles is logically lower than that of scooters. The latter are intended for mainly urban use, highlighting the use of electrical energy. Thus, the podium of the most popular two-wheelers in France is often monopolized by scooters. Within the electric motorcycle segment, the model regularly placed at the tip is the Super Soco TC. At the top of the hierarchy, we also note the presence of several representatives of Zero Motorcycles, as well as the Harley-Davidson LiveWire.

Electric motorcycles 2021: what bonus?
Initiated in 2017, the ecological bonus intended for the purchase of two-wheelers, three-wheelers and quadricycles was renewed for the 2021 financial year, using the same format as the previous year. According to government terms, it is granted for the purchase of a new electric model, registered in France, on condition of not using a lead-acid battery, of being bought or rented at least for a period of two years and not being sold within the year following its first registration, nor before having traveled at least 2 000 km. Furthermore, the request for assistance must be made no later than within 6 months following the invoice date, or the date of payment of the first rent in the case of a rental. The amount of the ecological bonus varies in two ways, depending on the power of the machine. Below the 2 kW threshold (2.7 hp), the aid is set at 20% of the acquisition cost TTC of the vehicle in the limite of 100 euros. If the power is greater than or equal to 2 kW, the financial boost is indexed to the energy capacity of the battery, up to 250 euros / kWh, to reach a ceiling of 900 euros, in the limit of 27% of the purchase price Including VAT, increased by the cost of the battery if it is rented. Note that this power level of 2 kW can be taken into account at 3 kW (4 hp), according to the applicable European standard, EU regulation 168/2013 for 2 kW and directive 2002/24 / EC for 3 kW. The bonus can be deducted directly by the dealer or refunded if the customer requests it after purchase. Like the automobile, the ecological bonus can be combined with a conversion bonus, for the scrapping of an old gasoline or diesel vehicle. Electric motorcycles and scooters are equally affected by aid, the amount of which is set at 100 euros for a taxable household and 1100 euros for a tax-free household. As to retrofit, which concerns the conversion of a thermal model into an electrical one, it gives rise to an amount of 1000 euros. To the ecological bonus and the conversion bonus, it is possible to add additional aid offered in certain municipalities or regions.
