For a few years now, the public authorities have been harping on our ears with the electric car, telling us that this engine is synonymous with the future, while thermal vehicles are responsible for all ills. While everything is being done to ban the latter, or at least to deter motorists, what about the zero-emission car? Because if the offer is more and more extensive, now extending to all segments, all is not rosy. And the point that poses the most problems today is still recharging, while the network is still very largely undersized compared to the ambitions of our leaders, who would like us all to switch to electric. Because in addition to being too rare, the terminals are also not always operational, while a recent study pointed out that 85% of zero-emission vehicle users had to deal with a broken down station.
VW Group CEO @Herbert_Diess, takes a scathing attack at @IONITY_EU charging network, which VW is a joint-owner of. His post on Linkedin is critical that the service is simply not good enough with lack of toilets/refreshments, charging points out of service. « simply not premium » pic.twitter.com/jZN2dDQTtN

And among them, a user not really like the others. It is indeedHerbert Diess, who is neither more nor less than the big boss of the Volkswagen group. Like every year, the businessman takes off his suit to take a little vacation in Italy, driving one of the models in the range. And if last year, the German boss took advantage of his holidays to promote electric mobility, this time, the atmosphere is less festive. Blame it on a station Ionity not really welcoming, which did not fail to irritate Herbert Diess, who did not hesitate to launch a tackle at the company… co-managed by Volkswagen. On Linkedin, the CEO therefore cracked a post, to say the least, bitter. ” Too few charging points on the station! Only 4 – of course everyone stops at the mall. Busy. So continued to Trento. Even after the criticisms of last year: no toilets, no coffee, an HS terminal, sad business. It’s anything but a premium charging experience, Ionity! ».
An immediate reaction
Obviously, criticisms are best heard when they are formulated by a personality, especially when it comes to the boss of one of the largest automotive groups in the world. What is more when the latter is indirectly involved in the management of the company under fire from critics. Quickly, therefore, the operations manager of the Ionity network responded to Herbert Diess’ rant, claiming that the broken terminal had been repaired. In addition, he also underlines that the person in charge of the incriminated station had taken into account the criticisms and was currently doing everything to improve customer service which clearly leaves much to be desired. Hopefully the boss of Volkswagen will be pleasantly surprised on a future visit, he has also been a fervent ambassador of the electric car for a few years now.
