Like that, the future Kia EV7?

Like that, the future Kia EV7?

Our colleagues from the Motor.es site imagined what the future Kia EV 7 could look like, which would support the EV 6 in the range.

Today, all manufacturers must switch to electric, an obligation they can no longer escape, while standards are becoming more and more restrictive. Worse still, the European Union announced a few weeks earlier the end of the sale of thermal cars by 2035, forcing brands to accelerate their electrification strategy. And for good reason, in a little less than fifteen years – almost tomorrow – it will no longer be possible to buy a new gasoline, diesel or even hybrid car at a dealership. Nothing has been specified yet, but it could be that the second-hand market is also affected. Either way, manufacturers must act, and that’s what Kia is doing, among others. And for good reason, the Korean brand is preparing to lift the veil on a new zero-emission model, which will enrich the range alongside its EV 6, unveiled a few months earlier.

If for the time being, no official information has yet been given on this new arrival, our colleagues from Motor.es have already tried to imagine what the latter might look like. Unlike the EV 6, which takes the form of a crossover, the EV 7 looks more like a large SUV, with a muscular style. It sports the new logo of the Asian brand, and takes up the aesthetic codes initiated on the raised sedan presented a little earlier. The style is then assertive to say the least, with angular features that could undoubtedly be a little wiser on the final version. If the interior has not yet been imagined, it seems that it is rather spacious, being able to accommodate no less than seven people, in a very livable space. The trunk volume should also be quite substantial, allowing the SUV to compete with the stars of the segment, including the Peugeot 5008 recently restyled.

A 100% electric motor

Suffice to say that for the moment, information is still very scarce, even almost non-existent about this future Kia EV 7, which should be officially revealed in the course of the year 2023. There is still time to see it coming. so, but already, our colleagues at Motor.es seem to know a thing or two about the great Korean SUV. The one that should be between the Sportage and the Sorento will indeed be based on the new E-GMP platform developed in partnership with Hyundai. Unsurprisingly, it will host a 100% electric traction chain, which will then logically be available in several versions. Like the EV 6, the SUV should indeed be offered with two or four-wheel drive and several power levels, although this has yet to be confirmed.

A direct rival to the Tesla Model X as well as the future Volkswagen ID.6, this Kia EV 7 will be officially launched in 2024 in the range. It should then be able to cover more than 400 kilometers in a single charge, according to some rumors of corridors that have not yet been confirmed.
