Like other major manufacturers automobiles, Honda has decided to initiate its transition to a fully electric offer. The Japanese giant has just detailed a three-step plan that plans to reach 40% of sales of electric vehicles with battery or hydrogen by 2030, 80% in 2035 and 100% in 2040.

These objectives are set for North America and China and the main markets where the electrification of the vehicle fleet is well underway. “Due to regional differences such as level of customer acceptance, infrastructure readiness and availability of renewable energies, it is difficult to adopt a single approach for the popularization of electrified vehicles on a global level ”, explains Honda in its press release.

One of the key stages of this program will be the introduction in the second half of the decade of a new electrical platform called e: Architecture which will be based on solid state batteries.

Honda sets itself another very ambitious objective which is to reach a rate of zero by 2050 accident deadly car and motorcycle involving vehicles of the brand. To do this, the manufacturer intends to generalize its “omnidirectional” driving assistance systems to all its cars marketed from 2030.
