In addition to its electric traction mode, this compact crossover is distinguished by its original line and its very flattering autonomy.
From 2014 to 2019, from € 11,000
Replaced since 2019 by a new more powerful, exclusively electric model, this Kia e-Soul “II” stands out with its original cubic body, 4.14 m long. This compact crossover offers sufficient habitability for a small family despite a trunk volume (281 liters against 354 on the thermal version) – and rear legroom – amputated by the batteries. Its 110 hp and 285 Nm engine, powered by 27 kWh batteries (30 kWh from 2017) offers sufficient performance (0-100 km / h in 11”2 and 145 km / h), despite a consequent weight of 1,500 kg. In addition to its driving pleasure, with a “Brake” mode reinforcing the engine braking, it offers good comfort and appreciable silence., hardly disturbed by a few rolling noises. Very reassuring, its behavior is characterized by a marked, amplified under-steering tendency, on wet roads, by poor quality original tires. Its autonomy is very flattering with a record of over 350 km established on the Paris ring road by our colleagues from Caradisiac. But full charging takes more than 20 hours on a standard AC outlet.
RELIABILITY 3/5
Despite its 7 year / 150,000 km warranty, this e-Soul is not immune to some failures. Spare parts can take a long time to obtain.
- Motor : rare replacements of the powertrain; charger, harness, or electrical relay problems.
- Modules GPS changed.
Examples of announcements
- Ultimate 2015 46 000 km 12 700 €
- Ultimate 30 kWh 2017 21 000 km 14 400 €
