A smartphone that can fit in the pocket of pants is becoming extremely rare today. To keep a large display area, without the constraint of dimensions, Samsung has just launched its Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. Mobiles that could well be the first to democratize access to folding smartphones.
We have been talking about the revolution that folding smartphones could bring about for years. While they were until now positioned in the very high end with an elitist price, the situation could well change with the two models unveiled by Samsung. Thus, with an entrance ticket of 1,059 euros, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is now the very first folding smartphone offered at the price of a traditional premium mobile.
It is therefore a concentrate of high-end technologies in a smartphone that folds in half to fit in any trouser pocket. Folded up, the mobile measures only 8.64 cm in height. Closed, it has a small 1.9 inch screen that gives access to many widgets to interact with the applications the most practical of the smartphone. Beneath this foldable display sits the mighty Snapdragon 888 of Qualcomm, a modem 5G and 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB (1,109 euros) of storage. Two batteries accumulating 3,300 mAh are available. On the photo side, the smartphone is equipped with two sensors 12-megapixel camera dedicated to taking wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle photos. A captor frontal 10 megapixel camera is also available, although it is possible to take selfies thanks to the video feedback of the mini display dorsal. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes in black, cream, lavender and green. In addition to this Z Flip 3, the brand also offers the very high end Z Fold 3 from 1,799 euros. The predecessor already foreshadowed what would be the “Cadillac” of the foldable smartphone and this version 3 confirms this outcome. The Z Fold 3 opens like a book and can be paired with an S Pen Fold Edition or S Pen Pro stylus. The 7.6-inch screen, displaying 2.208 x 1.768 pixels and refreshed to 120 Hz, turns it into a real Tablet of pocket. You will not see a selfie sensor and yet it is indeed available, but hidden under the screen with its 4 megapixels. It will prove to be very useful for “video”, but it is better to prefer the outdoor module on the side of the 6.2-inch screen with its 10 megapixels.
Very high end
On the From smartphone, there are also three 12-megapixel sensors (wide-angle, ultra-wide angle, telephoto x2).
