The Italian brand was long overdue. It is quite simply the last single-seater of the 2022 field to be unveiled. We now know all of the liveries that F1 2022 will wear for this new season under the new regulations.

This Sunday, February 27, Alfa Romeo unveiled his delivered for the year 2022 , in a 40-second social media show. No real surprise, the Italo-Swiss team still wears the white and red colors representing the Alfa Romeo brand. However, it has chosen to implement more red this year, to mark the heritage of the Italian brand. As the historic Sauber group celebrates its 30th anniversary. The Hinwil team is therefore very happy to present their Q42 :

“The start of the season is always an exciting time, when we see the fruits of the labor of hundreds of people over a long period of time. The C42 is a car we can’t wait to see race, not only because it’s the first to be designed under the new regulatory cycle, where competition is expected to be tighter and more exciting, but also because we have the greater confidence in this car to help the team take a big step towards the top of the grid”, explains Fred Vasseur, director of the Alfa Romeo Orlen F1 Team.

As a reminder, the stable Alfa Romeo ran during barcelona tryouts with a camouflage livery, who officiated temporarily. However, this solution did not succeed for the new Alfa Romeo driver duo. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou only traveled 175 tours, after three days of testing. The reason, many mechanical problems and pilot errors impacted the smooth running of these trials. For comparison, the other teams managed to total nearly 400 laps.

Will this C42 be able to allow Alfa Romeo to climb the slope after two complicated seasons in the background? Answer in one month, on the occasion of the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain, from March 18 to 20.
