Dacia Jogger 2022: price, info and VIDEO of the new 7-seater station wagon

(Update 03/09/2021 at 12:42 p.m.) Dacia Jogger 2022 – So as not to overshadow the new Renault Kangoo, Dacia abandons the niche of recreational vehicles. His Lodgy is overshadowed by this derivative station wagon of the Sandero, also brought to replace the Logan MCV.

Despite its new name, its facies is familiar to us. Nothing more normal since this break a bit sporty resumes the entire bow of the Sandero Stepway. From the raised city car it also inherits the adventurer’s appendages, particularly characterized by its sill guards and other wing extensions. Corn the Jogger gains above all 45 cm in length to peak at 4.55 m, i.e. 3 cm better than the Lodgy, when its wheelbase lengthens by 9 cm (2.90 m) to take advantage of the legroom in the second and third rows, since it is capable of carrying up to 7 passengers, depending on the version.

A lying Sandero

Travelers who, despite a larger space offered to their legs, may feel there a little more compressed than on board the Lodgy, because the ceiling is lower. The Jogger is lowered by about 6 cm (1.63 m), but wins a handful of centimeters compared to, late, the Logan MCV, in order to spare the goat and the cabbage. To increase the headroom of the Sandero from which it is extrapolated, and more particularly to the rear seats, the Jogger applies revenue from the first generation of Peugeot 2008 (2013) who raised his headgear to the level of the second row, thanks to a slight indentation of its roof line. A trick that allowed the Lioness to renew the front doors of the 208, for the sake of economy. Thus, on the new Dacia station wagon, logically ready for its money, the front doors are strictly identical to those of the Sandero, when the rear windows increase their glass surfaces by a slight break at the level of the B pillar (+ 4 cm). We also note that these rear doors stretch significantly to facilitate access to the last row.

Nice in-between

Singeant the design of some Volvo SUVs, through its vertical lights, the stern has an almost vertical profile to optimize livability. But despite all these efforts, the loading volume drops by more than 100 l (708 l) in the 5-seater configuration, compared to the Lodgy, but does much better than the Logan MCV. Decidedly, the Jogger asserts itself as a perfect in-between, compared to the duo it replaces, failing to shine in terms of modularity.

Stagnant modularity

The seat of the central bench folds down in one piece, and does not benefit fromno slide that would have allowed him to vary his trunk volume. The two seats housed in this luggage compartment are better off, since they can be folded into two parts. Corn do not expect to eclipse them under the floor, as usual on 7-seater SUVs. To enjoy a safe worthy of the name, in a 5-seater configuration, you will have to play Monsieur Muscle when you take out each chair, with the obligation to store them in the garage. For his part, the second row does not work a miracle by folding in portfolio, at the back of the front seats, thus minimizing all the potential of loading in length of this station wagon. Consequently, it will be very difficult to obtain a flat chest there, unless there are substantial manipulations.

Modern cockpit

But let’s recognize that the loyal customers of the Romanian brand are used to giving of their person, and will not hold it against him. She will even find the Jogger much more welcoming in the front seats, he who is based on a modern platform (CMF) from Clio 5, Captur 2 and even Arkana. The driving position wants to be finally worthy of the name, a thousand places from the “stools” that officiated on board the old Dacia, and adjustable with small onions. The driver’s seat, based on the framework of the Clio, benefits froma longer seat and adjustable in height, just like the steering column, in addition to a depth adjustment.

Nothing could be more normal since, there again, the cockpit of the Jogger comes entirely from the Sandero, and incorporates the latest refinements in terms of equipment, until enjoying a top-of-the-range 8 ”central touchscreen. Without getting there, it offers at the entry level a smartphone holder compatible with a 3.5-inch TFT digital screen, but also the steering wheel controls for cruise control and speed limiter, or the automatic switching on of the lights.

Enhancing options

As an option, it is eligible for heated front seats, automatic air conditioning with digital display, hands-free card with remote trunk release. But also, theautomatic switching on of the windshield wipers, the electric parking brake, the reversing camera, the blind spot detection and front and rear parking aids. The interior has also been the subject of small attentions, here and there, to pamper the rest of the occupants. 24 liters of storage space are distributed throughout the vehicle, of which 6 cup holders, while 7 cm sliding aviation shelves deploy on the backs of the front seats. Finally, the graduates of the last row benefit from half-open rear quarter panels, in the absence of a ventilation system, also unavailable at the level of the central bench.

Reduced motor range

Finally, just like the Sandero Stepway, the Dacia Jogger is capped with modular roof bars in a gallery to support up to 80 kg (bikes, skis, roof box). Under the hood, diesel engine point, but an unpublished 3-cylinder TCe 110 hp which replaces theECO-G 100 hp can run on LPG. A reduced offer, only coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission, which will be completed in 2023 by the hybrid engine – non-rechargeable – already on board the Clio and Captur E-tech. Around 140 to 145 hp, it promises all-electric driving up to 80% of the time in urban areas, thanks to a 1.2 kWh battery.

Limited launch series

At its launch in early 2022, the Dacia Jogger will release a limited series called Extrême characterized by roof bars, mirror caps and aluminum rims tinted in black, while the front and rear protective shoes display a Megalith Gray. This name is also found on stickers giving the illusion of air extractors on the front of the doors, as well as on the rims. The interior, for its part, is distinguished by red stitching and a standard equipment including reversing camera, regulated air conditioning and hands-free card, as well as floor mats and a rubber trunk coating.

Still the old logo

If this Dacia Jogger looks pretty good, it still displays the old Dacia logo in the middle of its grille, but in fact mourning on its tailgate, unlike the Sandero, with a view to a smooth handover with the new logo, unveiled last spring. A new identity that is not expected on a Dacia model before 2024 and the arrival of the next generation of Duster.

Dacia Jogger price

From November, it will be possible to order Dacia Jogger, at a base price that can be estimated around € 13,000, before the first scheduled deliveries in February 2022.
