Say that Gran Turismo 7 was expected is a no-brainer. And for good reason, if Xbox owners will be able to test Forza Horizon 5 very soon, which will arrive on November 5, PlayStation fans will have to take their troubles patiently. Because we know, the Japanese station Polyphony Digital, at the origin of the iconic saga of racing games, is not used to meeting the announced deadlines. This is probably why the development studio had not gone too far on the release date of this new opus, eagerly awaited by fans of the saga, launched in 1997. But now the Japanese firm is is finally decided to tell us a little more, on the occasion of a PlayStation showcase announcing a slew of new products to come. Rest assured, the game will arrive one day, since it should be available on March 4, 2022.
Good news for fans of the saga, as the wait began to drag on. Indeed, the release of the previous opus, Gran Turismo 6 already dates back to 2013, eight years without anything to eat. Of course, we can evoke the launch of Gran Turismo Sport in 2017, which is however not a real new game strictly speaking, but rather an evolving version of the previous one, thus making the link between the two opus. It should therefore not take too long to arrive on the PlayStation 5, while Polyphony Digital also gave some information about the game, and took the opportunity to unveil a first video teaser. And the least we can say is that the images are already making our mouths water, also suggesting some of the cars that can be driven by the players on the different circuits offered in this new opus.
Dynamic weather and customization
If certain information remains secret for the moment, such as the eagerly awaited list of cars, Polyphony Digital has nevertheless unveiled some details on this new opus, which marks the return of the GT Campaign mode. And fans should be particularly delighted to experience dynamic weather for the first time, after this aspect had been put aside by the developers for many years. In its press release, the studio affirms that “ we have managed to recreate many types of skies and light changes depending on the time of day and the weather “. It remains to be seen how this will concretely translate into the game. Another feature that should appeal to players, the livery editor, inaugurated in GT Sport and carried over here, with an improved interface. In addition, it will also be possible to take a photo of your car in breathtaking landscapes with striking realism, thanks to HDR technology. The firm announces in fact that ” you will be able to take pictures of your car freely across 43 countries and over 2,500 locations. Each moment captured can be shared with other players and you can discuss this passion that drives you all ».
