The future Porsche 911 GT3 RS was glimpsed during tests at the Nürburgring, a few months before its presentation.
It’s been a while since we know that Porsche is preparing a new version of its 911, while the range is not yet quite complete. After the 911 GT3, unveiled a few months ago and presented on the brand’s stand during the first edition of the Munich fair, it is the turn of its even more nervous variation to prepare. But to tell the truth, this future RS variant is not entirely unknown, since we have already seen it numerous times in recent months, notably sporting an imposing spoiler giving a fairly precise idea of the sporting ambitions of the German coupe. But now our colleagues from Automedia offer us a new burst of photos, which is obviously not to displease us. The opportunity to learn a little more about this new version, the presentation of which should take place in the course of next year.
Spotted fine-tuning his final settings on the Nürburging, this new Porsche 911 GT3 RS hardly wears any camouflage any more, allowing us to have a rather precise idea of its style. And the least we can say is that it imposes, while the sport is decked out with numerous air intakes aimed at cooling the cavalry installed at the rear. In addition to those installed at the rear fenders, we also notice the NACA sockets inaugurated on the previous GT3 RS on the hood. At the rear, it is impossible to miss the specific diffuser, which incorporates two round exhaust outlets. The rear part is then surmounted by a large spoiler, which is sure to turn heads once the sportswoman is on the road. The interior is still unknown, but there is no doubt that it will be very close to the other models in the 911 range, with its touch screen, digital instrument panel and horizontal dashboard, recognizable at first glance.
More than 500 horses
For the moment, information is still scarce on this future Porsche 911 GT3 RS, while the brand has not yet wished to communicate about it. However, our colleagues from Automedia seem rather well informed and already give us some details on what is hidden under the hood of this new version. Unsurprisingly, we therefore find a six-cylinder flat 4.0 atmospheric liters, the power of which should exceed 500 horsepower. All this cavalry will then be sent to the wheels via a PDK gearbox, whereas it should not be possible to take advantage of a manual transmission, despite its presence in the catalog of the standard GT3. For now, that’s about all we know about this future arriving in the range, whose official reveal should take place early next year.
