After narrowly missing out on the title of car of the year, the new Peugeot 308 wins the title of “women’s world car of the year”.
If there is one car that appeals to women, it is undoubtedly the new Peugeot 308. And for good reason, while it has recently taken its first steps in French dealerships, the compact lion already seems to have found its favorite clientele. Because after narrowly missing out on the title of car of the year, leaving the trophy to the all-new electric Kia EV6, the lion brand star was nevertheless entitled to a very nice consolation prize. And for good reason, this one was officially crowned “women’s world car of the year”, as part of the Women’s World Car of the Year 2022.
A great first
A prestigious competition that brings together several women automotive journalists each year, responsible for choosing the best car released in the months preceding the competition. This is a great first for Peugeot, which was nevertheless nominated in 2017 in the SUV category with its 3008, which is still a hit with customers with its restyled version. Appreciated for its versatility, this new Peugeot 308 also won over the jury for many reasons. For Malene Raith, Danish journalist “ this is not an expensive dream car reserved for the lucky few, but one that most families can afford ».
For her part, the boss of Peugeot, Linda Jackson welcomes this victory, emphasizing that “ the new 308 won thanks to all its qualities, but also because its range covers most uses, millions of potential users, in the countries represented by the Women’s World Car of the Year juries ».
