A few days ago, thousands of motorists had the unpleasant surprise of discovering Sahara sand on their cars. Well it’s not over!
After this improbable storm which had brought back Sahara sand on European cars, many motorists went to the car wash. It’s normal, but if you had planned to clean your car this weekend, wait a bit.
Because yes, a new cloud of sand should pass over the South of France. Not all regions are concerned but the Pyrénés-Orientales, Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Occitanie should be affected until Monday according to Météo-Pyrénées.
Yet another #SaharanDust storm should be reaching the Mediterranean basin in the next few days
According to the forecast of @CopernicusECMWFthe dust cloud will reach Italy 🇮🇹 on 26 March

Be careful with washing
When this new cloud from the Sahara has passed, care must be taken when washing. Indeed, it is strongly advised not to clean the bodywork by hand or to take it under the rollers of a car wash.
The bodywork could scratch very easily under such conditions.. It’s best to give the car a squirt or wait for it to clean itself at first. For this, rainwater can become a great ally.
