Carrefour is joining forces with Meridiam to develop its network of charging stations in its store car parks.
While the price of fuel continues to climb and taxation is increasingly severe against thermal vehicles, it is not really surprising to learn that electric models are meeting with growing success. Occupying an increasingly large market share, this engine attracts more and more motorists today. Nevertheless, many drivers still face the lack of charging infrastructure, combined with the fear of running out of range on the road. A situation which should nevertheless improve, while the terminals are expected to increase in the coming years.
New terminals at Carrefour
Now, new players are getting into this field, even the most unexpected. This is particularly the case of Carrefourwhich announces the creation of a partnership with Meridiam, as part of the creation of its own charging infrastructure in the car parks of its supermarkets. Eventually, each of them will have 10 spaces with a recharging system for customers. These new terminals will then offer a power ranging from 22 to 350 kW depending on the store where they will be located.
But that’s not all, because the tricolor firm announces in its press release that terminals for electric bicycles and scooters will also be put into service. A total of 2,000 charging points will be installed by 2023. Currently, 70 terminals are already installed and in working order in certain stores scattered throughout France.
