After having damaged his single-seater during the free practice 3, Lance Stroll was forced to wait for her mechanics to finish repairing it. But, caught in a rush, Lance Stroll caused a general misunderstanding on track. One time overtaking and one time slowing down, the Montreal native crashed into the single-seater of Nicholas Latifi throwing him into the wall. Result, the crumbling Williams can not continue. And the Aston Martin is immobilized for a broken suspension.
The Aston Martin driver was found guilty, by the race marshals, of the incident which caused a red flag. Lance Stroll receives a penalty of 3 places on the starting grid. He will therefore take off from last place in the Australian Grand Prix.
