Now owned by the Norman group EasyBike since 2013, the Solex brand has experienced a revival by embracing electric mobility with several ranges of Alas SolexSport, Solexity et VeloSolex.
The company has decided to revive the mythical model that made Solex’s heyday with more than seven million copies sold from 1946 to 1988. EasyBike is launching two versions: the Intemporel Confort at 1,521 euros and the Intemporel Infinity at 2,599 euros. The Solex as a herald of soft mobility
the Solex Timeless Comfort is equipped with an electric motor Bafang 40 Nm integrated in the rear wheel hub. According to the manufacturer, the 400 Wh battery installed on the rear luggage rack provides between 30 and 45 km. the Solex Timeless Infinity goes upmarket with a Bosch Active Line Plus motor developing 50 Nm integrated into the crankset and a 400 Wh battery supposed to offer up to 100 km of range. The fork and drivetrain are similar to the Solex Intemporel Confort, but we switch to 160mm disc brakes front and rear and a suspended seat post.
Those nostalgic for Solex will also have the satisfaction of knowing that these electric bikes are designed and assembled in France in Saint-Lô in Manche.
