In a humorous tweet, Philippe Poutou offers to lend his Peugeot 308 to Valérie Pécresse, in order to help her cope with her recent financial difficulties.
Will Valérie Pécresse soon drive a Peugeot 308? She now has the opportunity, thanks to… Philippe Poutou! The spokesperson for the New Anti-Capitalist Party proposed to the candidate LR to lend him his vehicle (similar to the one pictured above). The goal is to help the latter to face its financial difficulties, “linked to an overestimation of his abilities” according to Poutu.
To help my ex-colleague Pécresse who is facing major financial difficulties, linked to an overestimation of his abilities, if it can help him, I am willing to lend him my 308 for a few days.

You would have understood it, this tweet is satirical (although the invitation may be serious). He does anyway a tobacco on Twitter. It has more than 170,000 likes, 45,000 retweets and nearly 1,400 replies as of this writing. The cars of the Lion know how to make everyone agree!
Valérie Pécresse in debt of several million
The explanation behind this pike from Philippe Poutou is hidden in the recent financial difficulties encountered by Valérie Pécresse. In order to finance her campaign, the latter has indeed borrowed money on a personal basis: nearly five million euros.
This kind of borrowing is a common practice and normally mastered for representatives of major parties. Indeed, as soon as the candidate exceeds the bar of 5% of the votes in the first round, his campaign expenses are reimbursed by the State.
Except that Valérie Pécresse only reached 4.79% of the vote on April 10. As a result, of the 14 million euros of his campaign, 800,000 euros can be reimbursed to him, at best.
The president of the Ile de France region therefore finds herself in an astonishing situation, compelled to appeal for donations to defray his costs. A call to which Philippe Poutou therefore responded favorably. It remains to be seen whether the ex-candidate LR will be sensitive to it. This Peugeot would go wonderfully with the Citroën C4 that she already owns.
