[Mis à jour le 29/04/2021 à 12h15] Since 2013, the broadcasting rights of the Formula 1 in France are held by the Canal + group. For the ninth consecutive year, its various channels are mobilized to cover the season, until December. The live broadcast concerns all the driving sessions, namely the three free practice sessions, qualifying and the race. As a reminder, fiscal year 2021 provides for a record total of 23 Grands Prix. In some events, F1 is accompanied by the discipline that acts as an antechamber, the Formula 2, also showing on Canal + channels.

On March 28, Canal + chose to grant a unencrypted broadcast at the first Grand Prix of this season, in Bahrain, free access reserved for the race slot. This will not be the case for the third round in Portimao, as part of the Portuguese Grand Prix. Thus, it is necessary to take out a subscription to follow all of the action on the track. Friday and Saturday, Canal+Sport is responsible for broadcasting the three free practice sessions as well as qualifying at 4 p.m. French time.
