Alpine unveils a new two-tone limited series of its A110 S in Japan. Could she get to Europe?
Since its comeback in 2017, Alpine has never ceased to be talked about, despite the fact that the brand currently only has one model, theA110, available in several versions and special series of all kinds. If the firm, a subsidiary of the Renault group, plans to take a 180 ° turn by offering a new range composed only of electric models, this should not be done immediately. And for good reason, the first vehicle in the new Alpine catalog should not see the light of day before 2024, enough to leave a little time for the Dieppe brand to bring its A110 to life, which should therefore end up disappearing. And what could be better than a new special series to revive the enthusiasm for the berlinetta, which has returned to the market after more than twenty years after its disappearance? And the least we can say is that the one we are telling you about today should be successful, even though it is dressed in a very beautiful two-tone body.
Soberly called “Bi Ton Limitée”, this new special edition is based on the Alpine A110 S, the most efficient in the range. Here, the four-cylinder 1.8-liter turbocharged 292 horsepower does not evolve one iota, since the teams of the brand have mainly focused on the aesthetics of the sport. No less than three versions will therefore be offered, an Alpine Blue version with a black roof, an Abyss Blue with a Thunder Gray roof and an Iridescent White version with a black roof as well. While customers will therefore be able to choose the color of their Alpine A110 S, all copies produced will nevertheless be fitted with the same glossy black 18-pocket GT Race rims, which conceal red brake calipers. On board, the driver will be able to benefit from black Sabelt bucket seats, while the rest of the presentation does not change from the standard version. Of course, the standard equipment is more generous, including among others the reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, GPS navigation and the Audi Focal system.
Soon in France ?
In total, only 24 copies of this Alpine A110 S “Bi Ton Limitée” will be produced, only for the Japanese market. But while this special series will not be sold in Europe for now, Alpine is not entirely closed to the possibility of selling it elsewhere, provided it meets sufficient success in Japan. As a reminder, the Alpine A110 is available with us in several versions, including the Pure, Légende, S and more recently Légende GT, a special series limited to only 300 copies. So all that remains is to cross your fingers for the very beautiful Bi Ton Limitée version to also make its arrival on the French market, pending the arrival of the next electric sports coupe, which will replace the berlinetta in a few years.
