This first-generation Peugeot 2008 is an urban crossover that combines excellent driving qualities with accomplished habitability and modularity.
From 2013 to 2019, from €8,000
This first generation of the 2008 which supplanted, in 2013, the old 208 station wagon which was for a long time among the best-selling urban crossovers alongside the old Renault Captur. In addition to an elegant dress, restyled in June 2016, it combines complete modularity and habitability. And above all benefits from running gear, steering and damping typically Peugeot which, combined with its excellent ergonomics, beautifully serve driving pleasure and comfort. Too bad that the high finishes, systematically equipped with the Grip-Control traction optimization system, require 4-season tires which unnecessarily lengthen stopping distances. To replace ! At this price and this low mileage we find essentially the pleasant small 3-cylinder PureTech gasoline 82 hp. Or, for a little more money, its most invigorating 110 bhp version.
Reliability marred by a number of teething issues and recalls.
- PT 1.2 engine : noisy accessory belt (pulley screw).
- HDi : noisy distribution (crankshaft pinion); badly tightened high pressure rail ducts (recall in April 2014); EGR valve ; stop & start (computer).
- Train before : retightening necessary, cradle to be replaced or screws to be changed (reminder summer 2014).
- Hand brake : lack of efficiency (reminder of models manufactured winter 2014-2015).
