As reigning world champion, Fabio Quartararo spoke about his goals and his state of mind at the MotoGP French Grand Prix.
Reigning world champion and provisional leader of the current drivers’ championship, Fabio Quartararo addresses the French Grand Prix as a big favourite. But yet, the Frenchman has not yet never had any success at home. The characteristics of his Yamaha have not allowed him to fight for more victories since the start of the season:
“Inevitably, I remain a little unsatisfied with results like those obtained in Argentina or Austin. But, I fought just as hard as in the last two races! I think we could have scored a few more points… It doesn’t matter, we still arrive at Le Mans in a good position. Of course, the atmosphere promises to be totally different there, if only because the enclosure will be open to fans. Not to mention that I have since been crowned and that I am the current leader in the general classification. », he declares at the microphone of the MotoGP.
Le start of European tour has sounded the alarm bells for the Niçois who are returning to success, as evidenced by his victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix 15 days ago. This year, The devil arrives at Le Mans with thetarget to claim first home win :
This race, I intend to approach it in the same way. We will have to try to take advantage of it, while doing as well as on the other circuits. In 2021, it was the first time that I scored a podium at Le Mans. A result that I did not expect at all given the conditions. I think that this year, we will be able to take another step. Of course, if I have the possibility and the rhythm to do it, I will work on it. But do not make unnecessary mistakes. Scoring big points is the most important thing! “.
