The Frenchman thus receives a penalty of 3 places on the starting grid. Initially qualified in 6th place, he will therefore fly away from 9th place. Johann Zarco himself admits having disrupted the qualifying round of his Spanish counterpart:
“I did my two laps pretty fast, then I kind of missed the sequence of turns 1, 2 and 3. I knew I couldn’t improve anymore so I slowed down and tried to put me on the right, but I really didn’t expect Pol to be so close to me. I’m really sorry to have disturbed his turn. », he explained at the microphone of the MotoGP.
The chances of victory for the French driver are dwindling a little more. But the arrival of the rain during the race could reshuffle the cards.
