The YouTube channel KM77 has just published the test of the new Dacia Jogger’s momentum, and it’s not glorious.
The Spanish YouTube channel KM77 regularly conducts track tests of new products, with certain exercises including evasive maneuvers to judge their behavior and safety. This time, it is the new Dacia Jogger which left its steering wheel for a “momentum test”, it must be said, unconvincing.
It is a 7-seater version powered by a 100 hp LPG petrol bi-fuel that our colleagues took to the track. The model is equipped with the most high-end Extreme finish, a special series offered since the launch. From the first minutes of the video, we notice that the Jogger behaves strangely. It goes straight ahead, as if it didn’t want to turn. The presenter even quips: “i know, you think i forgot to turn the steering wheel to get back in the right lane”. But in fact, he explains that at this speed (80 km/h), the Jogger does not turn and is understeered, which extends the trajectory of the vehicle and makes it difficult to control it.
70 km/h in the best case
After several tries, the Spaniards manage to go to 70 km/h without touching a cone in the best of cases. A rather average result, which also demonstrates strong understeers causing the Jogger to go out of the way for at least a meter. Despite the driving aids, including the ESC, this is not enough to properly catch up with the elevated station wagon whose front wheels slip.
The Jogger fared better for the slalom event, with a final time of 26.6 seconds. Which puts it just behind a Peugeot e-2008 or a Skoda Fabia 1.0 MPI, and exactly on the same level as the Maxus Euniq 5, a seven-seater Chinese electric minivan sold in Spain.
