Ah, the United States… Huge burgers, disproportionate theaters, endless roads, in short, the land of excess. Are you still skeptical? This should convince you.
Ken Block has just revealed an absolutely delirious Porsche. named the HoonipigasusIt’s about a 911 SVSR. With the latter, he intends to dispute the 100th edition of the legendary Pikes Peak race (hill climb in Colorado).
Ken Block driving a crazy Porsche
Built in collaboration between BBi Autosport and Mobile 1the latter develops no less than… 1,400 horsepower ! For this, it can rely on a mid-mounted engine with two turbos.
To get that monstrous power to the ground, this 911 is equipped with four-wheel drive. Many aerodynamic appendages typical of Pikes Peak are also present, like a front spoiler and a rear spoiler all that is more disproportionate. The weight is also lowered to 1000 kg onlythanks to the use of carbon.
(1/4) Introducing: the Hoonipigasus! This is the hill climb beast that I’ll be racing at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It’s a Porsche 911 SVSR, built by BBi Autosport in partnership with Mobil 1… pic.twitter.com/mb3TSLzmwQ

The suspension technology is crazy too. A system using GPS data from last year’s climb is thus planned, in order to to adapt the behavior of the wheels on each bend. Quite a job, since there are no less than 156 bends over the 19.9 kilometer course.
Ready to win
With this vehicle, the Californian feels ready to win. “Pikes Peak is the reason I’m a rally driver”he said. “I always wanted the chance to race at Pikes Peak and compete for an overall victory. »
“With our BBi Autosport team in creating this incredible Porsche, we have a good chance to win », he continues. “I am thrilled to be part of this iconic race. And I’m totally up for the challenge of adding my name to the fastest overall in the toughest hill climb on the planet. »
For this, it will probably be necessary climb this hill in eight minutes. The all-time record is indeed 7’57 minutes. It is owned by Romain Dumas and was established in 2018, along with the Volkswagen ID R Pikes Peak.
