Honda holds SUVs in its arms: the brand has just announced the arrival in Europe of a new model called ZR-V.
If the Japanese brand remains faithful to its immortal Civic and is one of the few to still trust the urban minivan, it is closely eyeing the SUV segment. The current range, which counts on the HR-V and CR-V, will soon be completed with the electric e:NY1, as well as the Honda ZR-V.
Multiply the small, such is the leitmotif of Tokyo to strengthen its place in Europe. Thus, Honda will launch the new ZR-V next year. This model will be directly modeled on its Chinese counterpart (made with GAC-Honda), itself derived from the American HR-V, which is a local translation of the Honda HR-V that we know. You follow ?
A Civic engine for this Honda ZR-V?
To put it simply, this next Honda ZR-V, with its 4.34 m, will position itself more on the side of the HR-V (4.34 m too) than the CR-V (4.60 m). With its latest-generation Honda Civic platform, it will only be available with an e:HEV hybrid engine, formerly i-MMD.
It should therefore embark the hybrid tandem, consisting of a 4-cylinder 1.5 l Atkinson cycle and two electric machines. And should therefore offer a power of 184 hp for 315 Nm of torque. This will allow it to distinguish itself from the HR-V, which peaks for its part at 131 hp for 253 Nm of torque.
