Max Verstappen, winner of the Spanish GP, spoke of a complicated race.
Max Verstappen scored twice this Sunday afternoon in Barcelona. Winner of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Dutchman, reigning world champion, pocketed the twenty-five points and took advantage of the retirement of Charles Leclerc, leader of the drivers’ classification at the start of the race, to seize of the lead in the general classification. With now 110 points, Verstappen is six points ahead of Leclerc. After the race, the Red Bull driver confided in Canal+ and spoke of a complicated race, also coming back to his mistake during the first laps.
Verstappen’s reaction
“I had a wind at my back and I lost control in turn 4. My DRS didn’t work all the time, it was complicated. But we managed to come back and do our race. It was a complicated race. A difficult beginning but a beautiful end. I tried to stay focused. It’s never nice to have DRS problems but I’m very happy and also for Pérez it’s a very good team result. Our car has always been good on soft tires but also on mediums, it has been. »
