The 6th round of the Formula 1 championship, won by Max Verstappen, caused many twists and turns. What are the tops of this Spanish Grand Prix?
Max Verstappen (2nd -> 1st) : Max Verstappen is logically the first driver to find himself in the tops from the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Although the lack of reliability affected the Red Bull of the reigning world champion, the latter was able to reach the finish while Charles Leclerc, his championship rival, was forced to retire due to a mechanical problem.
From then on, the Dutchman was fastest on the track. Somewhat nervous, because of his Faulty DRSMax Verstappen nevertheless found the opening on George Russell to take the race lead and cross the finish line easily.
Winner in Barcelona, the reigning world champion has come a long way. After 3 rounds, Max Verstappen conceded two retirements and 46 points behind in the drivers’ championship. Today, the Red Bull driver is the one who has the most wins (4) on the gridincluding 3 in a row (Imola, Miami and Barcelona) and is very logically the leader of the ranking.

In the first lap, the Briton fell victim to a clash with Kevin Magnussen, due to which he punctured his left rear tire. Fortunately for him, the damage was minor on his single-seater, but the seven-time world champion was forced to pit early, when he was the only one to have taken the gamble of starting on medium tires. His offbeat strategy falls through.
Skeptical of the idea of moving up in the points, the Mercedes driver posted a more than interesting rhythm driving his W13. According to the German tabloid SkySportsGermany, Lewis Hamilton was 3/4 of the fastest lap time on Sunday in Barcelona. The evolutions of his single-seater are notable since on average, he was driving at almost a tenth of a second of the pace of Max Verstappen.
His excellent running pace allowed him to move up to 4th place in the Grand Prixin front of Carlos Sainz. Unfortunately, the British pilot was close to giving up on running out of gas. Forced to slow down, the Spaniard snatched 4th place from Lewis Hamilton on the penultimate lap.
Alpine : far from expectations in qualifying, the two French single-seaters showed great things in the race and especially during the first laps. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon respectively gleaned 5 and 3 positions at the start, before posting a exceptional race pace on the first stint on soft rubber.
The rest of the Grand Prix was much more complicated on the medium mounts. Nevertheless, with a good strategy and sufficient pace, the French team overcame their disappointment on Saturday in qualifying, by hanging with his two cars a top 10 (7th and 9th).
