Giving everyone access to the electric car with a rental of €100 per month was a theme shared in the last presidential campaign.
The electric car at 100 euros per month was first a campaign theme for candidate Anne Hidalgo before being taken up by Emmanuel Macron. The goal: to accelerate the transition to zero-emission driving a little more by allowing the most modest households to access it so that they are not sidelined while town centers are intensifying traffic restrictions for combustion-powered vehicles and that the price of fossil fuels is breaking records. Admittedly, there is already the purchase bonus and the conversion bonus, but the amount of money that still has to be paid out afterwards remains too high for many.

The facts are still very vague today, but should be clarified in the near future, as announced last week by the new Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, since it should be included in a corrective finance. The measure aims to support a long-term rental, but again, we do not know exactly how: will it manifest itself at the level of the possible contribution or to help pay the monthly bills? However, we know that the target is 100,000 electric cars per year with an estimated cost of 50 million euros, or aid of 500 euros per vehicle. As for the conditions of allocation, they would obviously be linked to resources, but also to age, to favor the youngest, as well as to the profession such as nurses or any other personal care activity.
