A few months after its revelation, the new Opel Astra now details its range, which starts from € 23,150.
Forget everything you knew about the previous generation Opel Astra. Because for a few months, this one gave way to a new completely revised version, first of the name under the era Stellantis since the takeover of the brand by PSA in 2017. And the least we can say is that the compact has changed a lot, with a style revised in depth, which has nothing to do with an old version , which was not necessarily dreamed by its design. It’s very simple, everything is new on this Astra, which in turn adopts the new aesthetic language of the German brand, inaugurated with the GT X Experimental concept. The front side indeed offers the new Viewfinder grilles, recognizable by its lacquered headband incorporating lightning-shaped optics. Very angular, this new generation has evolved its rear part, which also gains in presence. On board, the cockpit also makes a real leap forward, offering itself the new Pure Panel dashboard, consisting of two 10-inch screens attached to each other. Its trunk volume goes from 370 to 422 liters, while its wheelbase gains 13 small millimeters.
Resting on the EMP2 platform from the new Peugeot 308 and DS 4, this Opel Astra also inherits engines already present in the ranges of the two compacts. Customers will therefore have the choice between gasoline and diesel, with 1.2-liter and 1.5-liter engines of 110 and 130 horsepower, associated with manual or automatic eight-speed gearboxes. But that’s not all, because the German is also available for the first time in a plug-in hybrid, with a 180 horsepower version, combining a petrol unit with an electric motor. It is whispered that a declination 100% electric would also be considered, but no information has yet been communicated about it. Already available to order, this new generation Opel Astra should arrive in dealerships early next year. Discover the full range and prices of the German compact below!
