In addition to the return of the R5 and 4L powered by the electricity fairy, Renault promises to develop a 4L Van with an atypical profile, with an assumed vintage accent.
New 4L Van – Last spring, Auto-Moto was the first media to introduce you to the lines of the future Renault 4, through an exclusive illustration, extrapolated from style patents that have inadvertently leaked. Once again we do it again by lifting the veil on its utilitarian variant. A 4L electric van scheduled for 2025.

At a lower cost, Renault intends to offer a big utility sister to its future Renault 4L. Both were formalized last summer during an event highlighting the future electrical orientations of the Losange. If their design has not yet been officially unveiled, the former Régie has unveiled the profile could not be more explicit from his van. Even if it means undermining the aerodynamic qualities of the city car on which it will be based, this van will display a stepped roofline clearly reminiscent of its ancestors.
Aero nod to the past
Gone are the days when light commercial vehicles (Renault Express, Citroën C15) were just simple “tinkered” city cars, decked out in a huge rucksack overflowing on all sides. Since the 90s, and the arrival of the Kangoo and other Berlingo, the vans take care of their aerodynamics via a profiled roof optimizing, by the way, livability. With the return of the Renault 4L Fourgonnette, Renault seems determined to backtrack, on the altar of design, in order to ride the vintage wave. Thus endowed witha real staircase at its peak, the machine unfortunately risks melting its autonomy like snow in the sun, although it will be limited mainly to city trips.
VU low cost
Despite its vocation as a transporter, the Renault 4L Fourgonnette will renew the base technique CMF-BEV, itself from the current Clio. This thermal base has been favored to lower production costs, and maintain floor prices for future electric R5s and 4Ls. In the end, do not expect a significant battery capacity to move this future expert in “last mile delivery”. Assembled in France, this Renault 4L Fourgonnette, worthy heir to the F4 and F6, could only claim € 20,000 at the entry level, when it is launched in 2025.
