HP Smart App: the application at the heart of HP +
HP + brings together all of the printer manufacturer’s offers in one application. This of course allows you to print and scan in abundance but also to manage your Instant Ink subscription. Smart App also makes it easy to access files, whether they are stored on the device or on cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox. It is also here that you will have to go to start and monitor your printer. With cloud services and constantly connected printers, HP Smart App lets you print from anywhere. The whole thing is ensured by several intelligent tools allowing the printer to solve its connectivity concerns on its own.
With an upsurge in attacks targeting printers since the start of the pandemic, HP has also included in its offer a module ” Smart Security Which promises to prevent malware for a seamless experience when you want to print from your company’s internal network, or even anywhere thanks to the HP Smart App which is also available on all devices with iOS, Android, Windows or macOS. This will also allow you to start printing a file and allow the document to be output only when you are nearby to guarantee its confidentiality.
HP is a company with a long-standing commitment to the environment and HP + lives up to this reputation. With its Instant Ink offer, the company limits waste plastic from its cartridges and toners by allowing subscribers to return them for new cartridges made from recycled materials. We should also mention its “Forest First” initiative launched this year jointly with HP + in collaboration with the WFF and the Arbor Day Foundation with the aim of managing, restoring and protecting forests around the world. The brand’s paper comes from certified protected forests.
Compatible models
HP + is unfortunately not compatible with all connected printers from the manufacturer. Here are the models that benefit from it:
- the LaserJet M200e range;
- the Officejet Pro 8000e and 9000e ranges;
- the DeskJet 2700e and 4100e series;
- the ENVY 6000e and 6400e ranges.
Simply put, all models with an “e” at the end of the product code are eligible. In addition to everything discussed above, HP + includes the following benefits:
- six month subscription to the Instant Ink service;
- one year of additional warranty on its printer;
- advanced features on HP Smart App for 2 years.
