For this, Waze will map more than 4,000 kilometers of closed roads to traffic during the stages. The application will navigate based on open roads or not. This will be particularly useful for Paris, Lille or even Saint-Étienne. These are the largest cities on the event map.
Waze predicts traffic increases for the 2022 Tour de France
Over 30 Waze community volunteers will be responsible for updating the map for users. Necessary work when you know the traffic that the Tour generates. In Alpe d’Huez, one of the most famous portions of the Grande Boucle, traffic increases by an average of 70% the day the competitors pass.

Remember that the Tour de France 2022 will be contested from July 1 to 24. The start will be given from Copenhagen, before branching off towards France. Calais, Lille, Saint-Etienne and even Carcassonne are on the programme. The finish will take place in Paris, on the Champs-Élysées.
