Hyundai Ioniq 6: meet this evening to discover it in preview on Automobile Propre
ADVERTISEMENT

The Ioniq 6, an electric sedan with an amazing look, will be fully unveiled this June 28, at the very end of the day. Automobile-Propre will introduce you to it in the company of Hyundai’s chief designer.

The second model of Hyundai’s new family of electric cars is ready. After the Ioniq 5, make way for the 6! This will be a sedan, but as Hyundai has already done with the 5, the car will surprise in terms of looks.

We have already had a taste of the silhouette of the machine, since the Ioniq 6 is the production version of the Prophecy concept car. The model will thus look like a four-door coupe. It will have a fastback shape, with a roof that dips quickly towards a lowered stern and rounded shoulders. Some saw in the prototype the tunes of Porsche 911, reinforced by the presence of a spoiler under the window! This very fluid pace will favor aerodynamics.

For the past few days, Hyundai has been chaining teasers to increase the pressure. You can see amazing style details, especially in terms of the light signature, with for example a bar of diodes in the spoiler. As on the Ioniq 5, the lights will take on a pixel appearance.

Logically, the platform will be the same as that of the 5, a modular base designed for electric motorization. The technical configurations should be similar. The 5 is available with a rear engine of 170 or 218 hp, or with two engines with a combined power of 306 hp. On the battery side, it’s 58 kWh for the 170 hp, 77 kWh for the other two.

There are only a few hours left to wait before you see everything and know everything about the Ioniq 6. Automobile-Propre will give you a preview of it, with an exclusive video interview with Simon Loasby, Hyundai’s design manager, who will show us the car himself.
